Leroy Clouden is a highly respected drummer and percussionist whose deep groove, stylistic versatility, and decades of professional experience have made him one of New York City’s busiest and most sought-after players. A graduate of Queens College, Leroy has built a career spanning television, studio recording, Broadway, and international touring.
Leroy's resume includes collaborations with music legends across genres. He has recorded with Steely Dan, Marc Anthony, and Saturday Night Live’s bandleader Lenny Pickett, and played drums on the B-52s' hit album Cosmic Thing, produced by the iconic Nile Rodgers. His talent also brought him to Broadway as the drummer for the groundbreaking show Bring in ‘Da Noise, Bring in ‘Da Funk, where his dynamic performance helped redefine the role of rhythm in theatrical storytelling.
As an educator, Leroy brings over two decades of teaching experience to the classroom, with a focus on Blues, Pop, and R&B styles. Since 2001, he has been a cornerstone of the faculty at Sound Collective & The Collective Global Vision, where he is known for his clarity, warmth, and ability to break down complex grooves into accessible techniques for students of all levels.
