About Course

Introduction to Drum Technique is a foundational course crafted for beginner drummers aiming to build essential skills and develop a strong technical base. Led by renowned drummer Marco Djordjevic, this course focuses on the fundamentals of drumming, emphasizing proper technique, coordination, and balance.

Throughout the course, students will engage in exercises designed to enhance their hand and foot coordination, improve their grip and stroke techniques, and establish a solid sense of timing. The curriculum is structured to progressively build the student’s abilities, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of drum technique.

Course Content

The Basics
Marko will go over the basic principles to have down pact before you start playing and the proper way to warm up. Marko will touch on Proper sitting and posture, arm and hand basics and perfect warm up technique.

Coordination and Balance Exercises
Marko will discuss and the demonstrate a four way coordination exercise, how to eliminate balance issues and will introduce using Paradiddles.

Technique
Marko will touch on a few different techniques such as the Finger, Moeller, Hi-Hat and Bass drum techniques. Marko will also touch on how to include Flams into your playing.

Platforms
Marko will speak on the concepts of Platforms, how to add Paradiddle groove bass drum extensions and how to use what you know to learn things you don't .
