About Course

Music Production With AKAI MPC is a hands-on, creativity-driven course led by producer, multi-instrumentalist, and live performer Lisa Vazquez. Known for her hypnotic fusion of hip-hop, soul, and layered rhythms, Lisa brings her studio expertise directly to your fingertips—guiding you through the entire process of crafting original songs using the powerful AKAI MPC platform. This 21-lesson course is built for producers of all levels who want to master sampling, sound design, and track arrangement while developing their own creative workflow.

The course opens with the foundation of any great production: your gear and your workflow. Lisa shares practical advice on setting up your home studio, choosing the right equipment, integrating a DAW with your MPC, and—most importantly—developing a workflow that suits your creative process. With these systems in place, you’ll quickly begin turning your ideas into structured projects.

You’ll then dive into the heart of modern production: sampling and instrumentation. Lisa teaches how to find and creatively chop samples, record analog instruments, build custom drum programs, and blend live elements with digital tools. As your toolkit grows, you’ll learn to produce full songs—layering, arranging, and refining your tracks using both the MPC and a DAW. The final stages focus on mixing, mastering, and sound design, where Lisa breaks down how to craft custom bass tones, melodic elements, drum textures, and vocal-ready arrangements. By the end of the course, you’ll have not only a complete original track but also the skills and creative strategies to produce music with confidence and originality.
