Thavius Beck is a Los Angeles–based producer, rapper, educator, and certified Ableton Live trainer known for his genre-defying approach to electronic music and hip-hop. With a career spanning over two decades, he has released a diverse body of work as a solo artist, collaborator, and remixer, building a reputation for pushing creative boundaries through innovative sound design and lyrical depth.
Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Thavius relocated to Los Angeles at age 16, immersing himself in the city’s experimental music scene. He has released solo material under his own name as well as under the alias Adlib, and has been a member of groups like Global Phlowtations and Lab Waste (alongside Subtitle). His solo albums, including Decomposition (2004), Thru (2006), Dialogue (2009), and The Most Beautiful Ugly (2012), have been released on labels such as Mush Records and Plug Research, earning critical acclaim for their bold fusion of electronic textures and conscious lyricism.
Thavius has collaborated with and produced for an array of groundbreaking artists, including Saul Williams, K-the-I???, and Nine Inch Nails, for whom he contributed a remix of “Survivalism.” As a live performer, he brings high-energy improvisation and technical expertise to every stage, and as an educator, he has become one of the most sought-after Ableton Live instructors, leading workshops and masterclasses around the world.
